Can I be fitted in to see my own Doctor if I have an urgent problem?
Emergency appointments are triaged by the nursing staff on arrival.  We do try and fit our patients in with the doctor of their choice, however if that doctor is unavailable, you will be seen by another available doctor.
Where is the local hospital?
The Tomaree Community Hospital is located in Trevally Street, Nelson Bay.  Their phone number is (02) 4984 0700.
What do I do if I get sick after hours?
If you are sick after hours and need attention – you will need to go to the Tomaree Community Hospital.  If you just require advice – you can also ring the GP Access After Hours on 1300 130 147.
Do you do home visits?
Due to time constraints we have to limit home visits to patients who really are too unwell to get to the surgery such as palliative care and nursing home patients.

Please try to let us know as soon as possible if you need a home visit.

We are unable to offer home visits beyond the Marsh Road turn-off on the Nelson Bay Road.

Can the Doctor just write me a script? - I do not need to be seen.
We do not issue repeat prescriptions or referrals without consultation as it is bad medical practice.

Exceptions may be made at the doctor’s discretion if a patient has been seen within the last month.
